Babcock International Group has selected airsweb® as their preferred group-wide software solution to manage health and safety. Initially, the core airsweb® modules will be rolled out across the Marine & Technology, Defence & Security and Support Services divisions. “A powerful new incident reporting and tracking system is set to launch across Babcock Group later this year,” says Angus Beveridge, who heads up the Support Services Divisional Safety Steering Group. “It will enable the Support Services, Marine & Technology and Defence & Security divisions to share information about reported incidents right across the business. This new web-based system, called airsweb®, is being implemented after approval by the Babcock Safety Leadership Group and Corporate Safety Steering Group. “This project was launched in July this year and the first Defence & Security sites are set to go live on airsweb® in October, with Support Services business units following from February 2012. “Within our division, incidents are currently recorded using a variety of different methods. The majority are utilising early electronic versions, but some parts of our business are still relying on paper and this needs to change. “A shared incident reporting system will be extremely beneficial to our company as it will help to improve safety analysis across the business and generate meaningful comparisons. “Investing in the roll out of airsweb®, which will be the first group-wide web-based system, further demonstrates our ongoing commitment to ensuring that our people return Home Safe Every Day.” Babcock is the UK’s leading engineering support services organisation with revenue of circa £3bn in 2010 and an order book in excess of £12 billion.
