Airsweb will join leading construction firms, the HSE and Airsweb strategic partner RoSPA, at the RoSPA Construction Health and Safety Conference, taking place 19 March at The Crowne Plaza Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham.
With clients including Wates, Amey, and John Laing, coupled with a proven track record in supporting HSE programmes, the conference was a clear choice for Airsweb to exhibit their class leading QHSE software solutions.
The 2015 conference will see top construction companies and industry thought leaders, providing best practice guidance through case study examples, practical advice to take away and implement in the workplace, and the latest information you need to know to protect your workforce, as well as highlighting what support is available.
The construction industry continues to be a high-risk industry with a high amount of fatalities at work in the UK (1) however there has been a huge reduction in this figure over the last 40 years. Staying up to date with the latest regulations, practices and deep knowledge of managing a health and safety programme continue to be top agenda items.
Guest speakers from Balfour Beatty PLC, Laing O’Rourke and Brookefield Mutliplex Construction Europe will cover subjects such as cultural change and mental health awareness in construction.
One of the highlights of the conference will be a keynote from Judith Hackett CBE from HSE and the future of the construction industry.
Lee Davies, the Marketing Manager, commented ahead of Airsweb attending: “We work with some impressive organisations and people in construction based health and safety, it is an industry that is going through continual change including the move towards being seen as sustainable, not just in the UK, but across the World. CDM regulation changes will be discussed by Judith and they are important changes. We learned a lot from working with NGF Europe back in 2012. The Permit To Work pilot went live just in time for a large CDM project and highlighted the genuine need for a consistent and reliable contractor management programme on large CDM projects.” Lee further added “Mental health, stress management and solid approaches to behavioural safety are all key items I am expecting to hear being discussed. It’s important that people realise that construction firms within the UK have robust health and safety programmes in place. A lot of time and energy is spent on keeping roads, sites and city infrastructure away from risk and on the journey to zero. One element of our role as a software partner is to help them achieve their goals through using airsweb® to measure and report on how effective that programme is.”
The conference looks set to be thought-provoking and engaging so make sure you do not miss out.
