User Conference success and Evangelist programme launched for Airsweb
November 21, 2014
The Conference, an annual gathering of Airsweb community members is developed in collaboration with the Airsweb User Committee and is a key calendar event, focusing on gathering user community views on the software solutions they use today and what they are looking for in the future. Some of the conference highlights included two exceptional key note seminars from Dr. Tim Marsh of Ryder Marsh and Simon Garrett of X-Venture Global Risk Solutions, along with a stirring and humorous role play scenario aimed at giving the attendees a better understanding of the benefits of using the software in their daily roles.
The express purpose of the conference was to respond to 2013 feedback and make it ‘product-focused’ but not ‘product-based’ whilst reminding people the conference is first and foremost a gathering. Lee Davies, Marketing Manager, explained some of the planning process involved: “It’s why we pushed the strapline of “It’s Where We Belong”. Did it sound dated at first? Sure! However the premise behind the “We” is the concept of a community, it’s a community where the users have a voice. The “We” takes all the passion for the products or solutions that Airsweb develop for the user community and combines that with the obvious passion that this group of professional people have for the QHSE space. Over 2 days we heard from some incredibly smart and focused QHSE professionals and the next step is to build on the momentum created and capture more thoughts including a post-conference survey.”
A key activity for Airsweb at the Conference was the launch of the Product Evangelist Programme. The programme, developed by Product Director, Rob Leech and led by Programme Manager, Richard Murphy, aims to develop an increased knowledge network inside Airsweb around key sector and industry trends affecting community members and a greater knowledge of the environments they are managing their QHSE programmes within.
A Product Evangelist has been assigned to each mainstream current software solution/product Airsweb currently has available. The high-level goal is to ensure community members and clients have a specific voice inside Airsweb that works in collaboration with them, to further improve the products/solutions they use by more intimately understanding their needs through a shared knowledge of the subject matter.
The success of the product break-out sessions had the programme off to a great start, with all 4 sessions running simultaneously over 2 days without issue, with good attendance levels and some very positive feedback.
Speaking after the event, Geoff Northey, Chairman of the committee commented: “A lot of hard work, pre-conference, helped deliver a thoroughly successful 2 days. Feedback from many of the attendees confirmed this. The conference was a good mix of safety information and audience participation, delivered in a professional manner with ” a dusting of humour” that did not undermine the seriousness of the conference. In excellent surroundings the conference surpassed the efforts of previous conferences and planning is now well under way for next year. Congratulations to the team for producing a first-rate conference.”
With the planning for the 2015 User Conference already underway, the team are focused on ensuring that 2015 builds on the success of the 2014 User Conference and keeps the “We” where it belongs.
